Thomas Danielian is a journalist with eight years of experience working in radio and podcast news. He is currently a Producer for NPR’s midday news magazine show Here & Now, which boasts an average weekly listenership of five million.

Prior to joining Here & Now in June 2022, Thomas graduated from the MA Program at Columbia Journalism School, part of Columbia University in the City of New York. At Columbia he focused on the politics and foreign policy of the US and UK.

Prior to arriving in New York in 2021, Thomas was the Lead Producer for shows at Times Radio and LBC Radio in London. Thomas worked in a wide range of roles on programs across the schedule in the 5 years he spent at the two commercial stations.

He has been involved in production of coverage for multiple UK, US and EU elections, has been tasked with leading reaction to breaking news at all hours of the day and also produced exclusive interviews. (Clips available here).

Thomas first tried his hand at journalism as a student, at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in music. While studying for his undergraduate degree, Thomas worked for the long-running student newspaper The Gaudie, becoming News Editor for the final two years. He then took up an internship with music radio station Classic FM, before moving to LBC Radio in 2017.
